Mission Statement

About Us

  • Hosted a family-friendly concert by Flame, a group from upstate New York made up of 10 people with developmental/physical disabilities, including autism, Down syndrome, and blindness who, through music, change the way the general public view people with disabilities. 
  • Sponsored a free playtime at the City Gym, Kids’ Cabin Fever Reliever, for children of all abilities.
  • ​Provided advocacy training for parents through a two-part workshop presented by Gerry Swalnick.
  • Workshops presented by Keith Amerson, Tom Bull, and others. 
  • Supported the Peer Network Program - a grant funded program geared to increasing children's acceptance and appreciation of differences in their peers with ASDs.
  • Provided funding to MVP Kids.
  • Host family-oriented community events to promote community inclusion and to provide an opportunity for families to socialize.
  • Provide funds to other local autism-related organizations and individuals residing in our service area through a grant application process.
  • Offer resources and training to families by hosting educational workshops on autism and related topics.



The mission of Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY is to empower individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families in Clinton, Essex, and Franklin Counties through support and education in the following ways:
















​The Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY was founded by members of the Autism Awareness Walk planning committee.  Our goal is to support individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families in Clinton County and surrounding areas. We provide resources and training to families by hosting educational workshops on autism and related topics. We have hosted family-oriented community events, including concerts, play groups and movie screenings to promote community inclusion and to provide an opportunity for families to socialize. Our grant funds will be provided to other local autism-related organizations and individuals residing in and around Clinton County, NY through a grant application process.
