2017 College Scholarship Grant


Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY will award a limited number scholarships of $1000 for full‐time
and $500 for part‐time students.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

o Currently enrolled or in the process of enrolling at a college or university for the Summer 2017 or Fall 2017 semester.
​      Both online and on‐campus programs are acceptable

o Have a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder (medical or educational).

o Have a high school diploma, the equivalent to a high school diploma (i.e. GED or IEP diploma, etc.), or will obtain a high school diploma or equivalent by Summer 2017. o Demonstrate financial need.

o The permanent address of the applicant must be within Clinton, Franklin, and Essex counties who are attending school elsewhere are still eligible for the scholarships.


Scholarships monies must be used toward college related expenses. Monies will be made available through direct payment to the college.


o College related expenses may include, but are not limited to:

     Tuition & College Fees
​     Room & Board
     Books

     Technology (i.e. laptop, software, hardware, etc.)

     Academic supports and supplies
     Scholarships are not to be used for costs of daily living (i.e. groceries, gas, clothing, etc.) or other non‐academic materials.


All requests will be reviewed by the Grant Committee and approved by the Board of Directors.

Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY is not bound to approve funds for all scholarship applicants. It also reserves the right to deny a scholarship application.

2017 Individual Grant Application


All grants for individuals must work to further our mission to empower individuals and families
touched by Autism Spectrum Disorders through support and education. They must also meet the
following criteria:

 Individuals are eligible to apply for funds up to $300. However, Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY reserves the right to offer funds at a portion of the request.

 Funds must directly benefit people with Autism. Funds should be used for caring, supporting and/or promoting social interaction (to include, but not limited to sensory and adaptive equipment, iPad or similar device communication apps, scholarships to YMCA, art class, or organized activity). Justification for requested funds must be provided by a professional in the field of Autism.

 Applications must include quotes, documentation, and receipts as appropriate.  All requests will be reviewed by the Grant Committee and approved by the Board of Directors.

 Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY is not bound to approve funds for all grant applicants. It reserves the right to choose individuals that embrace our Mission Statement. It also reserves the right to deny a grant application.  Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY will only reimburse a previous purchase or pay the vendor directly.

 Recipients are asked to provide feedback to Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY; feedback should include a summary of how the funds impacted the individual with Autism.


 Preference will be given to residents of Clinton, Essex and Franklin Counties as well as to individuals that have not previously received funding from Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY.

Autism Awareness Walk

2017 Technology Grant


The Autism Alliance of NENY will purchase technology devices for local individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The decisions will be made at the discretion of AANENY Grant Committee, but preference will be given to individuals most likely to use the device for communication. All grants are
chosen through our selection process and will be reviewed by the Board of Directors. This application should include items such as iPads, iPods, tablets, GoTalk or other communication devices.

In order for an individual to be eligible, they must meet the following criteria:

o Have diagnosis (medical or educational) of an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Please include supporting documentation.

o Have significant communication delay. o Live in Northeastern New York. Preference will be given to those within Clinton, Essex and Franklin Counties.


o Have access to a computer and internet (at home, school or somewhere readily accessible). o Have a justification for requested device from a professional who is currently working with the applicant (Speech Language Pathologist, Teacher, Counselor, Autism Consultant, Direct Care
Staff, etc). Please include justification.

o Demonstrate financial need. o All information will be confidential and be used solely for the purpose of selection. First name and initial may be used in advertising if permission is granted.

All grants must work to further our mission to empower individuals and families touched by autism spectrum disorders through support and education.  Requests can include, but are not limited to sensory equipment, ipads/cases, or social groups.  Requests must also meet the following criteria:

 Agencies and organized groups are eligible to apply for a grant for up to $1,000. Applications from For Profit companies will not be considered.

 Funds must directly benefit people with autism, but can be used to assist groups with other disabilities as long as the group includes autism.

 Grants must be used for direct program costs.  Administrative expenses are not included.

 Applications must include quotes, documentation and receipts as appropriate.

 Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY is not bound to approve funds for all grant applicants.  It reserves the right to choose agencies that embrace our Mission Statement.  It also reserves the right to deny a grant application or provide partial funding.

 Recipients are asked to provide feedback to Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY; we would like a summary of how the funds impacted the program.  

 Preference may be given to those that have not previously received funding from Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY.

 Applicants must provide service within Clinton, Essex, or Franklin Counties.

 Applicants must allow Autism Alliance of Northeastern New York to publicize award.
